Create Drawings

Compose a full drawing set inside TrafficCAD: viewports with live scales, title blocks, captured 3D views, sign schedules and MUTCD tables, PDF markups, and a fully editable typical application on its own sheet. About ten minutes.

The recording this tutorial follows (9:51).

1. Open the Drawings tool

Click Drawings in the top toolbar to open the drawing creator.

2. Add a viewport

A new sheet starts with a title block and nothing else. Add a Viewport and frame the model content it should show.

3. Position and scale the viewport

Drag the viewport into place, then work the Scale dropdown — the drawing re-renders to the new scale each time.

Resize the frame itself when the sheet composition needs it.

4. Choose a title block

Title blocks are templates — switch styles and the sheet re-renders.

5. Add a 3D view

Click 3D view, frame the model in 3D, and capture it onto the sheet.

6. Insert and format tables

Add a sign schedule — it reads the plan and lists every sign with code, size, mounting, and quantity.

7. Add details and MUTCD tables

Details and the MUTCD reference tables drop in the same way.

8. Mark up the sheet

The drawing editor is also a full PDF markup editor — polygons, clouds, callouts, all on the sheet.

9. Insert an editable typical application

Add a second sheet and drop in a Typical Application from the MUTCD template browser — every template inserts as fully editable vectors.
